100% Merlot
Planted in 1980 by a Messinian with a love for France, who brought the vines from France himself, this exceptional vineyard lies on a plateau of red clay soils, surrounded by olive, fig and pear trees. Since 2015, it has been the source of our single-varietal flagship Merlot.
Aged in 70% new barriques of French, American and Austrian oak.
The impressive 2021 Merlot opens with prominent wood smoke, clove, ripe black fruits and nuanced vanilla in its complex aromatic profile. Full-bodied, powerful and concentrated, The 2021 is a gorgeous Greek Merlot that combines commendable overall substance and intensity with superb balance and finesse. Finishing long, polished and savory, this is outstanding.
