Grown on their own roots, over 40 years old, on a plateau with red loamy soil surrounded by olive trees, fig trees, and pear trees, this vineyard has been producing our single-varietal flagship Merlot for years.
Aged in 70% new barriques made of French, American, and Austrian oak.
Rich ruby with purple reflections in the center. Delicately sweet, slightly candy-like bouquet, red currant, elderberry, fruit tea, a delicate hint of herbs, and light raisins. On the palate, rich, substantial, supported by an astringency from accompanying muscles that combine with the tannins; not yet fully soft in the extract, so it's best to wait a few more years here. Unless you serve something hearty with it. Not comparable to Bordeaux in taste. Except for the quality level.
